Christmas Talk : Show and Tell Monday

1. Tell us what your favorite thing about Christmas is.
Everything!! I love it! The decorations, food, family time, presents, traditions  hot chocolate, Christmas movies, snow (if we get any), everything. I just love how everyone slows down and spends time with their loved ones. It's my little man's first Christmas and I can't wait to make loads of memories and take way too many photos.

2. Tell us what your plans are for Christmas this year.
Every year is the same. We go to my mothers for Christmas dinner and they come to us on New Years Eve. Everyone. My Brother and sister and other halves too. We eat way too much, watch crappy Christmas day TV and fall asleep in front of the fire.

3. Show us a picture of Christmas in the past. Or present.

4. Do you wrap your presents all in one box, or do you like wrap each present separately?
I wrap everything separate. From the smallest to the biggest. I even wrap small things in wrapping paper and put them in a box and then wrap that and put that in a very big box filled with packing peanuts and bubble wrap and then wrap that. It a little bit of my evil side breaking out in me and a laugh on Christmas morning.  

5. Tell us about any special traditions that you or you and your family like to do.

Show and Tell Monday

Linking up with From Mrs to mama again today for Show and Tell Monday.
Today were talking about all things cold.

1. Tell us what you like to do when it's cold outside.

Sit by the open fire drinking a big mug of hot chocolate. Bake loads of yummy goodies. Go out for long rides on my horse. Watch all of The Santa Clause movies over and over again. I love them. Play Christmas songs so load that the neighbors can hear while I decorate the house. Take loads of pictures while I do all of the above.
2. Tell us some of your favorite "winter" recipes.

I love to bale over the winter. Eve's pudding, thumb print cookies, Vanilla cookies and apple pie are just a few. Ill do blog posts on them when I start making them. My favourite dinner/side dish over the holidays has to be my Nan's 'spud stuffing' that we put it the turkey  I really can't wait for it.
3. Show a picture of something that makes you think of the cold.

This is the road to my house 2 years ago at Christmas.

4. Tell us /show us some of your favorite accessories/outfits for the winter.

This is what i wear for most of the winter doing horses or going for walks. I swap out the wellies for uggs or riding style boots and add a scarf.

5. Tell us if you had the option of snow or no snow, what would you pick?

We had snow 2  years in a row and it made it very hard to get around. I live on a hill and it's very hard to get up home in the snow. But saying that I would love snow this year. Jasmin loves it. It makes everything so pretty. And I'm really looking forward to making a snowman ans snow angles, sledging down our hill and having a snow ball fight with the hubs. He loves it really.

Show and Tell Monday : Shopping

I'm a day late with this cos my stupid internet decided to go and die on me yesterday.
But, better late than never.

1. Tell us your favorite stores to shop at.

I do most of my shopping at Penneys. They have really improved their lines over the last number of years. I shop in Awear, River Island and Vera Moda too.

2. What are you "signature pieces" to wear.. your go-to outfits?

I'm a jeans girl. I wear them if all else fails. Jeans, a cute top and heels for going out. Or with a vest top, cardigan and flats for day wear. I LOVE jeans.

3. Show us your style through pictures {of you or pinterest finds}.

5. If you had to spend money on clothes or home items, which would you choose?

Before I had a family I would have chose clothes all the way but now I have to say I seem to put everything before myself. So the house would win.

6. Show us your favorite accessories.

I don't ever wear alot of jewelry. Not in an everyday basis. I always wear my wedding g band and my engagement ring and a pair of white gold diamond earrings the hubs bought for me. He's got amazing taste in jewelry. And I love scarfs. Really need to start wearing more on the stuff I have.

7. Tell us in one sentence your philosophy behind shopping. {What makes you buy an item}

If I know I need it and I know that I'll wear it, then I can buy it. Trying to stop the impulse buying.

Show and Tell

Linking up with From Mrs to mama today for show and tell Monday. 

Today we're talking about when we were 17. It seems like a lifetime ago with all that has happened in my life. 

1. When you were 17, tell us what kind of car you drove, where you worked, and what you were usually up to on the weekends.
I didn't have a car when I was 17. I had my "L" plates but never used then.
I worked in a factory making windows (glamorous right?) but I wanted money and they was hiring.
I spent most of my weekends going out with my friends or with the horses. Not much has changed there really.

2. Show us a picture of you when you were 17 {roughly}.

These are really bad photos sorry

3. When you were 17, tell us what you wanted to be when you "grew up."
I always wanted to work with horses. Anything that involved horses. but my other love was cooking. I would have become a chef or baker if things had worked out different.

4. When you were 17, tell us the kind of boys that you dated. Did you have a type? Do you have a relationship you remember well? Tell us about it.
I didn't really have boyfriends when I was is school. Might have something to do with going to an all girls school. I didn't like the pretty boys. I liked them a little rough around the edges. And I'm still liking the same type now. The hubs is was a bit of a rough and ready boy.

5. When you were 17, tell us where you pictured your life 10 years from then. Did it turn out the way you expected it to?
Not where it is now. I didn't know what I was going to be doing or where I was going to be. I was living life like a 17 year old, having fun going out and not thinking about the future much. I was NEVER getting married and didn't see myself with kids. How wrong was I?? I love my life now.

Show and Tell Monday : The If Game

1. If you could relive any memory in your life, tell us what it would be, and what/if anything you would change about it? 

I think if I could relive any memory it would have to be my wedding day. It was the best day ever. I don't think I would change anything. But I would love if Pinterest was around back then or I knew about it. I could have used it for inspiration.

2. If you could be any celebrity or well-known person, show us who you would be.

Great mother and if she can do it alone with 8 kids, I can do it with 2 and a hubs.

3. If you won the lottery, tell us would take the lump sum or take the money overtime, would you continue working or quit right away, would you reveal who you are, and what are some of the first things you would spend with your money?

I would take the lump sum. I would have to keep working as I'm a stay at home mom. That job never ends. ;0) I don't think I would tell anyone beside my family. I would buy or build my dream house and put money away for my kids to go to collage or to do whatever they wanted to do when they grow up. I might go on a shoppng sperr too

4. If you could live anywhere, show us where it would be and tell us why.

5. If you could have one magic power, what would be and what would you do with it?

To freeze time and go back in time to watch things happen again. If I could freeze everyone else I could get a lot more done around here. I would love to be able to watch my kids and I playing together or when my daughter took her first step. Like watching a home movie but better.

Show and Tell Monday : Stuck on an Island

Linking up today with Becky over at From Mrs to Mama.

1. Tell us, if you could only take 5 people with you to a deserted island, who would it be, and why?

The Hubs :  I would have to take him. He is an outdoors man and could probably build a fire from nothing. He hunts too so he could hunt for food. I could survive without him but I wouldn't what to be there without him.

My daughter, Jasmin : I would be heartbroken if I didn't have her with me making my hair go grey everyday. She has loads of energy and loves being outside.

My son, Paddy :  He's just so cute right now and he's starting to move around alot more. Plus he's never been to the beach so it would be a memory.

I couldn't decide who else to bring without upsetting someone. But maybe Bear Grylls could be useful or Jamie Oliver so I wouldn't have to do the cooking. :)

2. Show us which island you'd like to be deserted at.

3. Tell us, if you could only bring 3 items with you, what would those items be. And why?

Firstly, I would have to bring my camera and batteries for it. I take too many photos of everything. I would be so upset if I could take pictures of this place. We might be stuck there and it might be scary but we would be making memories and they are always worth capturing.

Second thing I would bring would be my frying pan. What am I meant to cook on? I'm a foodie. Love my food and love to cook it well. I could cook just about anything in my frying pan.

Third thing would be some laying chickens. Now this might sound a bit mad. But I don't know how long we'll be there. With these chickens, I would have eggs and meat to feed my family. I'm very practical.

4. Show us 3 pictures that you would take with you.

This is a tough one as I have lots of photos that that I would want to bring.  but these ones make my heart swell.

5. Tell us what you envision life would be like on that island. Do you think you would go into survival mode? Would you be like those Survivor people and eat bugs? What qualities do you possess that would help you survive. Do share.

I would have to go into survival mode. Being a mother, I don't think I could panic or break down. I would have to be strong for my kids, so that they would see that we could do this. How ever bad things got, I don't know if I could bring myself to eat bugs. I just couldn't. I'm quite an outdoors person. I hunt, I can start a fire and I could probably be able build some kind of fort if I had to. But with the hubs by my side, I think we could survive.

Show and Tell Monday : High School

Linking up with the ever so cute Becky and her growing bump this week for Show and tell Monday. Go check her out.

1. Tell us what kind of student you were in high school {popular, nerd, sport obsessed, choir, etc} I was a sports girl. I did track and field and palyed basketball for 3 years and was on the equestrian team which  was started up by me and our sports teacher. Loved keeping fit back then.Wish I had more time to do it know. I was also on the decorating committee for our school dance (debs). Back then it was a way to get out of class but now I know it because I LOVE crafting.
2. Share with us some high school pictures. We know you have them somewhere. I searched high and low for some pictures and the only one I could find was a group one of my debs class. Debs are like the senior prom in the states. It the final big party before we finish school.

3. Tell us about your school. Private? Public? How many in graduating class? Mascots? School colors? It was a public, catholic all girls school. We had nuns and all. Things are a lot different here in Ireland and I know that this is going to be read by some people in the states so let me explain. We didn't do school teams that much. I mean we had a basketball team and football team but no cheerleaders and games were never a big deal. We wore a horrible navy pinafore and the nuns were very strict about proper dress code. The school is gone now (thank god) and there is one big mixed community collage
4. Tell us about some of your favorite memories of high school. Or what stands out the most? Any teachers? Specific classes? I loved phys ed. Didn't involve books and I loved sports. Never liked english. I speak it everyday and I speak a lot but ask me to put it on paper and I just couldn't. And you might be wondering how I can blog... well it's because I type what I think. But I'm pretty sure the if my English teacher had to mark what I'm writing now, I'd fail.
5. Tell us a piece of advice you would pass on to your children or any child entering high school. Not to worry about fitting in. You will find you groove and you will be ok. I wasn't the most popular in school but I talked to everyone and because I did that I always had someone to sit with and talk to. Make friends with someone who might be struggling. You never know what they might be going through. Don't be mean with your words, they can hurt more then and anything. Be brave, try new things, stand up for yourself.

Today I'm linking up with Becky over at From mrs to mama for show and tell Monday.

First time I've linked up with her so here goes.

1. Tell us your favorite baby names? Aside from your own babies, if you have some :)
Of course my favourites are my kids names, Jasmin and Patrick but others i like are for girls I like Lillie, Ruby and Leah. And for boys I'm liking Caleb, David and Ollie.

2. Show me your "dream" nursery {can be your baby's nursery or one that you love}

3. How many children would you like to have? How far apart?

I have 2 kiddos. A nearly 5 year old girl (OMG) and an 8 month boy. I love the idea of a big family but I don't know if my brain could handle a house full of kids. Maybe one more. Not sure how soon though.

4. Tell us what you think the importance of parenting is?
To be there for your child. To let them know that no matter what they do, good, bad or other, You will always love them. Maybe not like what they are doing but always love them.

5. Show us your favorite newborn photo {can be your children or random}

I love Ella bella photography and the may she poses babies in her photos. This is one of my favorites.

6.  Tell us some things you promise to never do as a parent {and if you are a parent, did you stick to it}

Just to be there for my children. To make every day a little bit special. And to do my best every day. Some days I'm a rock star mom and do everything right but some days I fail. But I try not to beat my self up. Being a mother is the hardest but most rewarding job in the world.
