Lottie Doll review

We were sent a little surprise for my daughter awhile back from the lovely people at Lottie Doll. You may have seen these dolls on the Late Late Toy Show for the late two years. I can't tell you how excited I was when they contacted me about reviewing these dolls.

Lottie Doll are award-winning, childlike dolls, that empower young minds and nurture individuality through play. Unlike other dolls, Lottie and Finn are based on characters that are nine years of age. Lottie and Finn are relatable, age-appropriate and fun dolls.

Their motto is
Be Brave, Be Bold, Be Beautiful

8 thing you may not know about Lottie

Irish made!

We were sent the pony flag race lottiepony flag race accessory set and Seren, the welsh mountain pony. The look on my pony mad daughters face when she opened up the boxes was priceless. She loved the doll and the pony. The accessories were amazing. The rosettes and the extra cover for the helmet were just perfect. Very realistic. And that's coming from someone that rides horses.

Lottie is a positive doll. She is age appropriate, wears no make up or jewellery or high heels. No super skinny waists and does not have boobs. She is designed for children aged 3-9 years. She also dresses in age appropriate clothes, no crop tops or bootie shorts here.

We've had out doll with awhile now and I can tell you that they stand up to alot of playing. Lottie has been taken on lots of adventures around the house and garden and even survived an attack from a very enthusiastic 3 year old boy.

I love that Lottie can stand on her own two feet with shoes on. This comes in handy when Jasmin is doing photo shoots with her. But, I also love that it shows young girls that they can stand on their own two feet too. That they can be adventurous and explore and it not just for boys.

With over 12 dolls in the range, there is something for everyone. I can't wait to add to our collection.

The packaging is just lovely too. Each doll box is themed and designed with a cute handle to encourage reuse and doll portability. The bright and colourful Lottie doll packaging has been designed with the aim of lessening the use of plastic packaging and the use of those horribly annoying and tricky wire ties. I hate them and they take forever to open.

If you're interested in buying a Lottie doll for the little ones in your life you can use the store locator on there website or just buy one online {here} . And, if you sign up for the Lottie club, you can receive the latest news as well as details of bundle offers. Plus you can redeem a 10% discount only for club members.

**We were sent the Lottie doll and accessories to review. All thoughts and opinions are my own and 100% honest. We were not paid for this review.

Oisín the Brave - Moon Adventure

We're going through a right book phase here in our house. We've been going to the library and getting books off the shelf alot more. So when Michelle Melville, from Éire's Kids, contacted me recently offering me a chance to review their first book, it was perfect timing.

Eire’s Kids , is a new husband and wife publications company based in Galway. Oisín the Brave – Moon Adventure is the first in a series of picture books. It tells the story of two explorers, Oisín the Brave and Orane the Dragon of N'Scaul as they set off on a journey to the moon to investigate the strange flashing light they see coming from it's surface.

The drawings were pretty cool and I really loved how they show some of Irelands great history and culture throughout the book. My little guy loved looking for the worm and got so excited when he found it on the pages. Both my kids { 3 and 7 } loved the book and wanted me to read it again.

The irish words throughout the book were perfect of my 7 year old. She's learning irish in school now and really enjoyed practicing and learning new words. I really liked how the aliens names are different Irish numbers depending on how many eyes they have. The kids are learning without even knowing.

Oisín the Brave – Moon Adventure is available in Eason's stores around the country and if your local book shop doesn't stock it you can ask them to order it in. You can also buy it directly from www.eirekids.com. The book would make lovely birthday or Christmas gift at just €6.99 on their website and can be personalized if you wish. It can also be sent to worldwide. Make sure to keep an eye out for the new book from Éire's Kids, Oisín the Brave - Robot Island which was launched just a few day ago.

Head on over to their facebook page now and give them a like. I love supporting irish companies. Buy local, buy irish and all that. I'm going to be running a giveaway on the blog shortly where you will be in with a chance of winning not one but two of their lovely books.
Keep checking back here or head on over to my facebook page and like it so you don't miss out. All the links are below.

Aldi Hair Dye {review}

I'm always looking for good products that do their job and save me a few euro.
While doing the weekly shopping in November, I came across hair dye in Aldi.
At first I was a bit skeptical about the product.
I mean, how could something so cheap be any good.
The hair dye came in at under €3 and for that price I couldn't leave it there.
I was in bad need of a touch up and decided to give it a go.

Fast forward to the middle of December and the dye was still on the shelf looking at me.
You see I love my long hair.
I didn't want anything bad to happen to it.
I had horrible visions or my hair turning green of even falling out.
It cost less then the dinner did and that couldn't be good, right?

The day of a family party came and I still hadn't done the deed.
I asked twitter friends of they had ever used it and no one had.
But with a little encouragement and being told I should sacrifice myself for the greater good I decided to do it.

To my surprise, it was great.
The coverage was amazing.
All my grey's were covered and not highlighted like some dyes do.
{Yes I have a few grey's but I'm sure ye won't tell anyone}
The colour was very natural looking and made my hair look and feel healthy.
No green hair/ hair loss to report either.
Woo hoo!!

Sorry for the bad bathroom selfie. Forgot to take a proper picture with my big girl camera.

Overall, I was delighted that I bought it and I can tell you I won't be paying double and sometimes even triple the price ever again.

So, if you're looking for a cheap, good quality hair dye that hides those naughty grey's, head down to Aldi and invest there.
You won't be sorry.

Disclaimer: I am no way connected to Aldi Ireland. I was not asked to do this review. I just liked the product and had to share the love. Please make sure you follow all instructions and do the allergy test before you use any hair dye.
